Sommertid indledt med stort morgenhold på Odden, og det blev endnu større. Foto: Ole Friis Larsen/GFU
Trækket på Odden: Unlike our watches and alarm clocks, the weather hasn’t switched to summer time yet. The sun only made a few (highly appreciated) appearances through the clouds, and the shifting wind remained very cold all morning long.
Despite the temperature, the true highlight of this sunday morning was not from the birds, but on the other side of the telescopes: we were not less than 14 people to count and admire today’s migration. With all these eyes scanning the landscape, we spotted 6 637 individuals of 46 migrating species, among which a lot of ducks and passerines, as well as a few raptors. Obviously, the Eiders (Ederfugl) remain the star of the show with 5.418 individuals today, which means we have exceeded last spring’s total number of eiders by a few thousand!
