Ringmærkningen: Morgenen kunne ikke være mere anerledes fra igår. Vi havde gevinst allerde i første runde, en fin lille munk (Sylvia atricapilla)! Dernæst hr. og fru. jernspurv (Prunella modularis) en halv meter fra hinanden. Jeg nyder runderne og suset i maven, når der er gevinst.
Jeg fik lov at ringmærke flere fugleidag, blandt andet én af mine ynglings - palindromet (Carduelis carduelis).

Jeg skal dog stadig lære hvor stramt jeg skal holde om fuglene. To gange er det lykkedes fugle at slippe fri af mit greb (ups).

Trækket på Odden : Sunday at the tip felt like one of those mornings where more people than birds showed up for the standard migration count at Denmark’s southernmost point.

And once again, the weather refused to believe we are already in the second half of May. Cold wind, layers upon layers of clothes, hats, gloves, it was the full setup. Only after the five-hour standard count did the sun finally emerge from behind the clouds, and people slowly started peeling off winter gear one piece at a time.

The stars of the day were not feathered this time, but furry: four rabbits and a young male Roe Deer, the latter sprinting for its life along the fields. Hunting season opened yesterday, and the deer clearly knew it.
