Always things to do at Gedser Fuglestation

Today we have had a very quiet day, so we ended up doing shifts to do the net rounds (a single person can handle 3 birds per round). Also, we decided to close the nets just after standard time for the same reason, but we used the rest of the day for washing bird bags, data entry, a bit of bird watching at the tip, jumping into the sea and attempting and failing catching swifts.IMG 0520

We feel like we are ready for a very busy day, we have been studying and discussing a lot about ageing, fat score, fastest way to extract birds from the nets, fastest way to put the bird into the little pot for checking their weight and we always have our set of walkie talkie fully charged and ready in case we need to spilt the team, so we just need over 300 birds in a day to test if we are truly prepared for the challenge.
